Nexium.
Nexium (esomeprazole) is an efficient proton pump inhibitor used for the reduction of acid produced in the stomach. Therefore, it can prevent ulcers and treat condition called GERD. It may take you several weeks to feel the full benefits of using Nexium. Make sure you continue taking Nexium even if you feel well, as feeling well does not necessarily mean you are healthy. Mild side effects are not uncommon when Nexium is used and can include the following ones: nausea, constipation, stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, dry mouth, and gas. The mild side effects mentioned are unlikely to last for too long and you aren't supposed to be worried if you get them at any point of your treatment. However, there is also a chance you may get some serious side effects that will need to be reported to your health care provider right away. The following ones are sometimes reported: hives, blisters or peeling skin, swelling of the face, throat, hands or feet, rash, itching, difficulty breathing or swallowing, and hoarseness. If you think Nexium is not working for you – talk to your health care provider but do not change the dose yourself.
